- Shift Duration: 12-hour days
- Shift Options: Day or evening coverage; 4x12s may also be accepted
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
- Schedule: Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Unit Census: 23 beds
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Travel Requirement: Yes
- Local Candidates: Not accepted within 50 miles of the facility
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in Wisconsin or a compact RN license
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cardiac telemetry, PCU, DOU, IMC, or stepdown nursing
- Recent acute care experience within the specialty is required
- BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA
- Epic charting experience required
- Ability to pass a telemetry exam prior to start
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Comfort caring for adult cardiac patients in a fast-paced intermediate care setting
- Willingness to float as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for adult cardiac and telemetry patients
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, ST segments, and dysrhythmias
- Care for patients recovering from cardiac procedures, including angioplasty, stent placement, pacemaker work, and electrophysiology interventions
- Manage cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and other therapeutic treatments as ordered
- Support patients with heart failure, cardiomyopathy, renal failure, and post-MI care
- Perform and manage invasive and non-invasive monitoring, including arterial lines, central lines, and telemetry systems
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe, effective patient care
- Educate patients and families to promote understanding of cardiac conditions and recovery plans
- Participate in a team-driven environment focused on quality, safety, and excellent outcomes
