Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,960 - $2,070
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
• Schedule: 3x12-hour nights
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
• Unit Size: 4-bed pediatric unit
• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents
• Charting System: Cerner / PowerChart
• Floating: May float within scope to Med-Surg, Telemetry, or Family Birthplace based on experience and hospital needs
• Orientation: 12 hours

Job Requirements

• 2 years of Pediatric RN experience required
• Adult Med-Surg experience required due to floating expectations
• Travel nursing experience required
• Maryland RN license or compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS and PALS required
• Must be comfortable working independently and managing a small pediatric unit
• Experience with Cerner / PowerChart preferred
• Ability to support a fast-moving unit with low daily census and variable patient needs
• Flexibility to float within scope as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to pediatric and adolescent patients
• Assess, monitor, and respond to patients with respiratory illness, jaundice, dehydration, diabetes, failure to thrive, congenital conditions, and other common pediatric diagnoses
• Use high-flow oxygen, cardiac monitoring, Safe Place, and bililights as indicated
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Cerner / PowerChart
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services, IV team, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and more
• Demonstrate strong independent clinical judgment while maintaining unit standards and patient safety
• Float to appropriate units such as Med-Surg, Telemetry, or Family Birthplace when pediatric census is low
• Support a positive patient experience through attentive, family-centered care
