Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or a compact state
- Minimum 1 year of Mother/Baby, Postpartum, or Couplet Care experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Experience with fetal monitoring preferred
- Epic experience preferred
- Ability to care for postpartum patients and newborns who do not require ICU or NICU-level care
- Comfort working with high-risk postpartum and antepartum patients
- Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical support skills
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate postpartum nursing and newborn care in a Mother/Baby unit
- Support couplet care, breastfeeding education, and discharge teaching for parents
- Monitor maternal recovery, including fundal assessments, lochia, pain management, and incision care
- Care for newborns with needs such as phototherapy, hypoglycemia monitoring, and thermoregulation support
- Assist with medications and therapies including magnesium, insulin, heparin, and pitocin as appropriate
- Perform assessments, newborn identification checks, and patient education to promote safe transitions home
- Float within scope as needed to support antepartum or Labor & Delivery with fetal monitoring experience
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide safe, family-centered care
