• Weekly Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Orientation: 12 hours
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,770 - $1,860
• Charting System: Epic electronic medical record (EMR)
• Unit Environment: High-acuity, fast-paced inpatient holding area with adult medical/surgical diagnoses

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry, telemetry RN, or comparable acute care experience
• Previous travel nurse experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Strong knowledge of telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Experience with adult medical-surgical and PCU-level patients preferred
• Open to floating within and near the facility as needed
• North Carolina RN license or Compact RN license accepted; pending license may be considered for submittal
• Strong teamwork, adaptability, communication, and clinical assessment skills

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adult patients awaiting inpatient beds in the ED holding setting
• Monitor telemetry patients and identify changes in rhythm, cardiac status, or patient condition
• Support patients with a wide range of medical-surgical diagnoses, including higher-acuity cases
• Deliver nursing care such as blood product administration, IV management, feeding tube care, and isolation precautions
• Assist with respiratory support including CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and oxygen therapy
• Collaborate with rapid response teams and interdisciplinary healthcare staff to support positive patient outcomes
• Float to ED and MedSurg areas as needed based on unit needs and patient volume
• Document accurately in the Epic EMR and communicate effectively using established clinical workflows
• Maintain flexibility for night shift schedules, weekend coverage, and high-acuity patient assignments
