Travel RN Job Details

- Schedule: 36 hours per week, typically 3 shifts per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,740 - $1,840
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Setting: Short-term acute care hospital
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Charting System: Epic
- Floating: Required to other acute care departments as needed
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license with compact eligibility in hand at time of submission
- At least 1 year of recent RN experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Experience in Med/Surg Tele, telemetry nursing, or a similar acute care setting preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Experience with Epic charting system required
- Strong skills in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV management, blood product administration, wound care, and rapid response support
- Must be comfortable caring for adult and geriatric patients with a typical 1:5 to 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Must be flexible and willing to float within other acute care units
- Must be available to work required weekend shifts and commit to 3 of the 5 major holidays
Med/Surg Tele Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients in an acute care hospital
- Monitor telemetry, assess cardiac rhythms, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and support central line and feeding tube care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support treatment plans and discharge readiness
- Perform ongoing assessments, document care accurately in Epic, and communicate updates to the care team
- Support rapid response and code team efforts when indicated
- Provide education and compassionate care to patients and families
- Float to other acute care units within the hospital as needed based on patient care demands
