Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or a compact state at the start of assignment
• Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience required
• Prior travel nurse experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required and current
• Experience with cardiac stepdown, telemetry, intermediate care, med-surg, neuro, or CVA patient populations preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Ability to provide a complete work history, explain gaps over 90 days, and submit required credentials

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate care to intermediate care and cardiac stepdown patients
• Monitor and assess patients with cardiac, neuro, telemetry, and med-surg needs
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the healthcare team to support positive patient outcomes
• Administer medications, perform assessments, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Support a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and patient-centered care
• Assist in a teaching environment and work collaboratively with students and new hires
• May be asked to take charge responsibilities with training and appropriate differential
