Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification required
• CPI certification required
• Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to identify psychiatric disorders, substance use concerns, and behavioral changes
• Experience with psychotropic medication administration and monitoring
• Skilled in therapeutic communication, de-escalation, and crisis intervention
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced inpatient behavioral health environment

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ mental health status and monitor for changes in behavior, mood, and safety risk
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and treatment goals
• Administer psychiatric medications and observe for therapeutic effects or adverse reactions
• Provide crisis intervention, including de-escalation and support for patients experiencing agitation, aggression, or suicidal ideation
• Use therapeutic communication to build trust, encourage engagement, and promote positive patient outcomes
• Monitor vital signs, mental status, and medication effects throughout the shift
• Collaborate with the care team to support safe, compassionate, and respectful patient care
