- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Schedule Notes: Equivalent of every other weekend
- Unit Size: 30 beds
- Patient Ratio: 5-6:1
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, progressive care, or acute care nursing
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
- Experience with telemetry interpretation and cardiac medication drips preferred
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to cardiac stepdown and telemetry patients with varying acuity levels
- Monitor telemetry rhythms and document rhythm strips each shift
- Administer and manage cardiac-related drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone
- Perform bedside rounding and hourly rounding to support patient safety and positive patient experience
- Manage chest tubes, wound vacs, and perform EKGs as needed
- Collaborate closely with charge nurses, hospitalists, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Follow unit policies, including alarm response expectations and safe telemetry practices
- Float to other med-surg or progressive care areas as needed based on skill mix
