• Hours: 36 hours per week

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Schedule Notes: Equivalent of every other weekend
• Unit Size: 30 beds
• Patient Ratio: 5-6:1

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, progressive care, or acute care nursing
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
• Experience with telemetry interpretation and cardiac medication drips preferred
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to cardiac stepdown and telemetry patients with varying acuity levels
• Monitor telemetry rhythms and document rhythm strips each shift
• Administer and manage cardiac-related drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone
• Perform bedside rounding and hourly rounding to support patient safety and positive patient experience
• Manage chest tubes, wound vacs, and perform EKGs as needed
• Collaborate closely with charge nurses, hospitalists, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Follow unit policies, including alarm response expectations and safe telemetry practices
• Float to other med-surg or progressive care areas as needed based on skill mix
