Join a high-acuity Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) in Madison, Wisconsin. This 13-week travel RN assignment offers the opportunity to care for complex cardiac and thoracic surgery patients in a fast-paced, collaborative teaching and referral hospital setting.

- Schedule: 3x12 night shifts, every other weekend, some holidays, no call
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
- Setting: Cardiothoracic surgery and cardiovascular critical care
Job Requirements
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state license
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in the specialty within the last 3 years
- Recent CVICU nursing experience required
- Experience with NextStage CVVH machine required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Epic charting experience required
- Prior experience in a Trauma Level I setting required
- Travel RN experience preferred
- Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start
- Ability to float as needed within the ICU setting
Responsibilities
- Deliver expert critical care nursing to cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients
- Care for patients recovering from CABG, valve repair or replacement, aneurysm repair, aortic dissection repair, transplant procedures, and advanced cardiac interventions
- Monitor and manage complex cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and hemodynamic support
- Support patients with advanced devices and therapies including CRRT, IABP, Impella, LVAD, ECMO, and Thermoguard systems
- Interpret dysrhythmias, monitor telemetry, and respond quickly to changes in patient status
- Collaborate with charge nurses, resource nurses, nursing assistants, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Provide safe, compassionate, family-centered care in a high-acuity ICU environment
- Adapt quickly to changing assignments and support planned and emergent procedures
