Job Details

• Position: MICU Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse Assignment
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460 - $1,540
• Location: San Antonio, TX 78229

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2-3 years of ICU nursing experience required
• Active Texas RN license required; temporary license will not be accepted
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Certification required
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently in a high-acuity setting
• MICU or MSICU background preferred
• Experience with IABP and CRRT preferred
• Meditech experience preferred
• Willingness to float as needed per unit policy

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate care to critically ill patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit
• Monitor, assess, and interpret complex patient conditions and respond quickly to changes
• Perform and assist with ICU procedures including chest tubes, trachs, GI scopes, intubations, central lines, and arterial lines
• Manage NG tubes, Foley catheters, and dressing changes with attention to detail
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow unit policies, including punctual badge-in/badge-out procedures
• Adapt to floating assignments when needed while maintaining high standards of care
