Job Requirements
- Strong ICU experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center required
- Active Illinois RN license required
- Current CPR certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Current NIHSS certification required
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Education verification required
- Ability and willingness to float between ICU and Step-Down ICU
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and patient safety skills
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to critically ill patients and step-down ICU patients
- Use the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
- Administer medications and treatments according to approved nursing standards and state regulations
- Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in alignment with standards of care
- Develop, initiate, and execute individualized plans of care based on patient needs and provider direction
- Educate patients and families as part of the overall plan of care
- Support quality improvement and shared governance activities within the unit
- Provide guidance and clinical expertise to support patient care across departments as needed
- Recognize changes in patient condition, prioritize safety, and escalate concerns appropriately
