Job Requirements

• Strong ICU experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center required
• Active Illinois RN license required
• Current CPR certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current NIHSS certification required
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Education verification required
• Ability and willingness to float between ICU and Step-Down ICU
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, and patient safety skills

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care to critically ill patients and step-down ICU patients
• Use the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Administer medications and treatments according to approved nursing standards and state regulations
• Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in alignment with standards of care
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized plans of care based on patient needs and provider direction
• Educate patients and families as part of the overall plan of care
• Support quality improvement and shared governance activities within the unit
• Provide guidance and clinical expertise to support patient care across departments as needed
• Recognize changes in patient condition, prioritize safety, and escalate concerns appropriately
