- Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
- Shifts Per Week: 3
- Schedule: Day and night rotation, every other weekend, holidays as needed
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730 - $1,820
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Setting: Adult cardiac stepdown / intermediate care unit
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license for Washington, DC; pending DC license may be accepted with proof of pending status at submission, but the license must be in hand before the start date
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
- At least 1 previous travel nursing assignment required
- Experience in PCU, IMC, stepdown, or telemetry strongly preferred
- Experience managing dysrhythmias and caring for ventilated patients
- Cerner charting experience preferred
- Comfort working with adult and geriatric patient populations
- Flu vaccination required; COVID-19 vaccination not required
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care for cardiac stepdown and intermediate care patients
- Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias to support safe patient outcomes
- Care for patients with medical diagnoses and complex cardiac needs
- Support patients who may require ventilatory assistance and close clinical observation
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, and other support services
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the charting system
- Work rotating day and night shifts while maintaining strong communication with the care team
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a high-performing stepdown environment
