Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of nursing experience preferred
• Behavioral health, mental health, or psychiatric nursing experience strongly preferred
• BLS certification from AHA required
• NIHSS certification required
• Ability to work effectively in a secure inpatient psychiatric environment
• Strong communication, assessment, and de-escalation skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adults experiencing mental health crises and behavioral health challenges
• Monitor patient status and support individualized treatment plans in a secure psychiatric setting
• Administer medications and document care accurately in EPIC
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and behavioral health staff to support patient recovery
• Assist with therapeutic programming, patient education, and discharge planning
• Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for patients and team members
• Use clinical judgment and compassion to help patients stabilize and transition to the next level of care
