• Floating: First to float to other floor or stepdown units as needed

Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• EPIC experience required
• Ability to care for both med-surg and stepdown patients in an acute care setting
• Comfort working with a 6:1 med-surg patient ratio and 3:1 stepdown ratio
• Experience titrating drips such as heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, and PCA medications
• At least 1 year of relevant acute care nursing experience preferred
• Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work weekend nights and adjust to a flexible patient care assignment model

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse population of cardiac stepdown, telemetry, and medical-surgical patients
• Monitor patients on telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Titrate ordered drips and manage therapies according to unit protocols and provider orders
• Care for patients requiring support such as CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and ventilator monitoring in stepdown
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, clinical associates, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in EPIC
• Support safe, efficient patient flow while maintaining excellent clinical standards
• Adapt to changing unit needs and assist where needed across floor and stepdown assignments
