Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent acute care, telemetry, or stepdown nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Ability to independently interpret telemetry strips
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips preferred
• Comfortable floating as needed to Tele or MedSurg units
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Reliable attendance and flexibility to work scheduled weekends and occasional holidays

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide care for cardiac stepdown and intermediate acuity patients, including chest pain, CHF, arrhythmias, and post-procedure recovery
• Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in patient condition quickly and accurately
• Titrate ordered drips according to policy and clinical need
• Perform assessments, document care in Epic, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Support pre- and post-cardiac catheterization patients, including radial band management and groin checks
• Assist with patient transfers and floating assignments as needed to support unit coverage
• Deliver safe, patient-centered care while maintaining strong communication with providers and ancillary departments
