Travel Nurse Job Details

• Position: Med/Surg Tele RN
• Setting: Resource Pool / Med Surg Tele / ED Hold support
• Location: Plattsburgh, NY 12901 — a welcoming North Country location near Lake Champlain
• Type: Travel RN assignment
• Start Date: September 21, 2026
• Duration: 4 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470-$2,600
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required to R5, R6, R7, and potential additional telemetry units

RN Job Requirements

• Active New York RN license required at time of submission
• At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience required
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required prior to start
• Epic experience within the past 2 years required
• CMSRN preferred
• Strong flexibility and ability to support multiple patient populations
• Reliable transportation strongly recommended due to limited public transit in the Plattsburgh area

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate patient care for Med/Surg telemetry patients in a hospital setting
• Support a varied patient population including oncology, orthopedics, urology, and ED Hold needs
• Monitor telemetry patients and respond appropriately to changes in condition
• Perform IV care, bladder scans, glucose monitoring, and blood draws from central lines as needed
• Collaborate with nursing teammates, unit clerks, and support staff to promote efficient patient flow
• Float to assigned units and adapt to changing patient care needs in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Document accurately in Epic and follow unit protocols and standards of care
• Maintain a professional, team-oriented approach while delivering high-quality clinical support
