Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- 36 months of RN experience, including at least 1 year in an ICU setting
- Prior CVICU experience strongly preferred
- Previous successful travel nursing experience preferred
- Ability to safely manage 1-3 ICU patients and care for ventilated patients
- Proficiency in reading telemetry strips and managing advanced hemodynamics
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
- BSN preferred
- TNCC and other advanced critical care certifications preferred
- Experience with Meditech preferred
CVICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide expert bedside care for complex cardiovascular ICU patients
- Monitor and manage patients recovering from CABG and other high-acuity cardiac procedures
- Support care for patients with Impellas, balloon pumps, Swan-Ganz catheters, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring needs
- Care for neuro critical care patients as assigned, including EVDs and related specialized interventions
- Deliver safe, patient-centered care using bedside shift report and strong communication with the interdisciplinary care team
- Administer therapies and support respiratory treatments as needed
- Float to support ICU holds, PCU, or ED assignments according to unit policy
- Contribute to a collaborative critical care team environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
- Take part in opportunities to expand skills in neuro ICU, cardiovascular ICU, and specialized flap care
