- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Shifts Per Week: 3 shifts per week
- Schedule: Every other weekend, with holidays in rotation
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 - $1,770
- Setting: 29-bed telemetry unit
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Employment Type: Travel, W2
Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- At least 2 years of RN or LPN nursing experience
- One previous successful travel nursing assignment preferred
- Experience caring for telemetry, cardiac care, and post-cardiac procedure patients
- Ability to manage up to 6 telemetry patients in a fast-paced clinical setting
- Proficiency in reading telemetry strips and recognizing rhythm changes
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Strong communication, time management, and collaboration skills
- Ability to support discharge planning and patient education
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to telemetry and post-cardiac procedure patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Care for patients following procedures such as PCI, PPM, ICD placement, and ablations
- Administer treatments including cardiac drips, breathing treatments, and other ordered therapies
- Perform phlebotomy, Foley catheter care, and related nursing tasks as needed
- Develop and update plans of care each shift
- Collaborate with physicians and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care
- Complete bedside shift report, patient rounding, and patient education
- Float to other appropriate areas as needed, including telemetry monitoring or PCU
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, teamwork, and patient safety
