Job Details

• Position: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Contract
• Location: Odessa, Texas
• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts
• Estimated Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Pattern: Approximately 3 shifts per week
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Weekend Coverage: Required, with weekend shifts built into the schedule
• Charting System: Cerner experience preferred

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications
• Experience with fetal monitoring and obstetric triage
• Ability to work night shifts in a high-acuity, team-oriented environment
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and adaptability

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care for laboring patients, postpartum patients, and newborns
• Monitor fetal heart patterns and respond appropriately to changes in maternal or fetal status
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and high-risk obstetric procedures
• Perform triage assessments and support antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care
• Administer medications and IV therapies as ordered, including blood products when indicated
• Support breastfeeding, newborn identification, and postpartum recovery needs
• Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure excellent patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold unit standards for quality and safety
