We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Psych Registered Nurse to join a travel nurse assignment in Indiana, Pennsylvania. This behavioral health nursing role offers the opportunity to support patients in an inpatient psychiatric setting while working alongside a dedicated interdisciplinary care team. • Schedule: Rotating days and nights, every other weekend coverage
• Shift Duration: 8-hour evenings
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,000 - $2,100
• Setting: Inpatient behavioral health / psychiatric unit
• Unit Environment: 44-bed inpatient psych facility with floating to adolescent and geriatric behavioral health units

Job Requirements

• Active RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of registered nurse experience required
• Inpatient adolescent psychiatric experience preferred or required per unit needs
• BLS certification required
• De-escalation training or certification required; SAFE Training Course may be completed onsite if needed
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, and every other weekend
• Comfortable floating to adolescent and geriatric behavioral health units
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting
• Support patients experiencing psychiatric and behavioral health challenges with professionalism and compassion
• Use de-escalation techniques to help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment
• Monitor patient status, document care accurately, and communicate changes to the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
• Float as needed to adolescent and geriatric behavioral health units
• Promote a calm, respectful, and recovery-focused atmosphere for patients and staff
• Follow unit standards, safety procedures, and nursing best practices
