• Patient Ratio: 1:6, depending on acuity
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekends per 4 weeks, flexible
• Float Requirement: Must be open to floating within/near the facility as needed
• Charting System: Epic preferred

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac floor nursing experience required
• Telemetry, stepdown, or progressive care experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must be comfortable managing dysrhythmias, cardiac drips, and post-cardiac procedures
• EKG testing must be completed prior to start
• Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the care team
• Flexibility to float within the unit rotation and support patient care needs

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric cardiac telemetry patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Care for patients with conditions such as AFib, CHF, ACS, CAD, cardiomyopathy, PAD/PVD, and post-procedure cardiac diagnoses
• Support patients recovering from CABG, valve procedures, TAVR, Watchman, pacemaker placement, thoracic surgery, and other vascular or cardiac interventions
• Manage cardiac drips, perform sheath removal, and assist with post-cath and post-DCCV care
• Use specialized equipment and tools such as EKG, chest tubes, Doppler, TR band, fem-stop, and bladder scanner as needed
• Document care accurately and communicate updates using SBAR and Epic
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support safe, efficient patient care
• Maintain a professional, compassionate approach while adapting to the needs of a busy cardiac unit
