Travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse – Night Shift in Peoria, Illinois

• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Contract Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130-$2,250
• Schedule Notes: Every other weekend required; rotating holidays; block scheduling may be considered with approval
• Charting System: EPIC
• Orientation: Unit orientation with preceptor support, plus EPIC and professional orientation
• Clinical Setting: Acute care surgical unit with telemetry and post-op patient populations

Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing, medical-surgical, or acute care experience
• BLS certification required
• Strong post-op care experience and sound clinical judgment
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary care team
• Good bedside manner and willingness to ask for help when needed
• Comfort caring for a variety of surgical, trauma, and overflow medical patients
• Ability to meet submission requirements, including requested time off and required candidate details

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to post-op surgical and medical overflow patients
• Monitor patient status, assess changes, and respond appropriately using critical thinking skills
• Support wound care, dressing changes, IV therapy, pain management, drains, NG tubes, central lines, and TPN
• Collaborate with charge nurses, patient care techs, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Assist with telemetry-related patient care as needed, with central monitoring support available
• Float to similar-level units when needed and provide safe, patient-centered care in each assignment
• Deliver reliable, team-oriented care in a busy unit where efficiency, communication, and clinical excellence matter
