Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or a compact state; pending licensure may be accepted for submission
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg or Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• BLS certification required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Strong telemetry monitoring skills, including dysrhythmia interpretation and rapid response support
• Experience with IV insulin protocols, heparin therapy, blood product administration, and wound care preferred
• Ability to float within or near the facility as needed
• Open to first-time travel nurses; local candidates are welcome

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret dysrhythmias to identify changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and manage therapies such as heparin infusions, insulin protocols, and blood products
• Care for patients with common diagnoses including COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, diabetes, anemia, GI bleed, and encephalopathy
• Support patients requiring oxygen therapy, isolation precautions, line management, and wound care
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to maintain smooth unit flow and excellent patient outcomes
• Adapt to changing unit needs, including floating and varied scheduling based on department demand
