Job Details

• Setting: PACU / Post-Anesthesia Care Unit / Recovery Room
• Location: Oregon City, OR 97045
• Schedule: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts
• Shift Duration: 10 hours
• Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,280 - $2,400
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• End Date: January 11, 2027
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• On-Call: Required, with weekend on-call coverage
• Orientation: 20 hours
• Charting System: Epic experience required

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of PACU or ICU nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Strong knowledge of PACU recovery workflows and postoperative patient monitoring
• Ability to work with adult, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patient populations
• Comfortable floating between units based on patient care needs
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for assignment needs
• Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality post-anesthesia recovery care for surgical patients
• Monitor airway status, vital signs, pain level, sedation, and overall patient recovery
• Support phase I and phase II recovery and prepare patients for discharge or transfer
• Perform ongoing assessments and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Manage IV therapy, arterial lines, central line care, and blood product administration as needed
• Administer and monitor medications, including narcotics, analgesics, and IV drips when appropriate
• Care for patients recovering from orthopedic, neuro, ENT, vascular, GI, gynecologic, and pediatric procedures
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver efficient, patient-centered healthcare
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in Epic
• Maintain a calm, compassionate presence while supporting patients and families through recovery
