• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470 - $2,600
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, plus holiday coverage as needed
• Floating: Required within skill set to ICUs, PACU ICU holds, ED ICU holds, and Cardiac IMC units
• Charting System: Epic experience required
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Location: New Brunswick, NJ 08901

Job Requirements

• Active New Jersey or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU experience required
• SICU experience may be considered if initial training in a CVICU was completed
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience with fresh post-op cardiac cases, including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR
• Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax
• Strong knowledge of Epic charting and critical care documentation
• Comfortable working nights, weekends, and holiday coverage
• Ability to float within scope and adapt to changing census and acuity
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and rapid response skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, high-acuity care to adult and geriatric cardiovascular ICU patients
• Monitor and manage patients recovering from complex cardiac and thoracic procedures
• Administer and titrate cardiac, vasoactive, sedation, and paralytic infusions
• Manage arterial lines, central and PICC lines, chest tubes, ventilators, and advanced hemodynamic devices
• Support patients with CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, open-heart recovery, and post-op cardiac interventions
• Care for patients requiring Impella, IABP, CRRT, temporary pacing, and advanced monitoring systems
• Interpret dysrhythmias, 12-lead EKGs, ABGs, and hemodynamic trends to guide care
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Maintain patient safety through infection prevention, isolation precautions, and vigilant clinical assessment
• Float to approved critical care areas as needed while maintaining safe, compassionate care
