• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Rotation: Yes
• Orientation: 12 hours non-billable orientation; unit orientation typically 3 shifts
• Charting System: EPIC
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,110 - $2,220
• Floating: May float to ICU for general acute overflow or to a nearby campus to support staffing needs with advance notice

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license, or proof that the application process has been initiated
• Minimum 1 year of acute care or Med/Surg nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS preferred
• Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Comfort working with telemetry monitoring and reading strips
• Ability to provide safe, high-quality care for a varied medical-surgical patient population
• Current license submission accepted; willing to wait for the right candidate

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients in an acute care setting
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care throughout the shift
• Monitor telemetry and collaborate with the care team on patient status changes
• Partner with patient care technicians to support consistent bedside care and patient comfort
• Care for patients with diagnoses such as pneumonia, heart failure, sepsis, COPD, urologic conditions, surgical recovery, total joints, and general surgery
• Assist with stable BiPAP and high-flow respiratory support troubleshooting as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and timely charting in EPIC
• Communicate effectively with the charge nurse, supervisor, and interdisciplinary team members
• Adapt to floating assignments as needed to help meet patient care needs
