Overview

This Emergency Department Registered Nurse role is a 13-week travel nurse assignment in a short-term acute care hospital. The Emergency Department cares for a broad range of emergency presentations, from triage to complex, high-acuity cases. Nurses in this ER RN position should be adaptable, confident, and comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-moving clinical environment.

• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050–$2,160
• Location: Portland, OR area
• Charting System: Epic
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: May float to meet unit needs
• Schedule Type: Variable evening and night coverage

Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• Active Oregon RN license or compact RN license in hand at submission
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
• Strong Epic experience required
• Experience with triage is required
• Ability to care for patients across the lifespan, including pediatrics
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency setting
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and variable shift coverage as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for emergency patients with a wide variety of diagnoses and chief complaints
• Perform triage, ongoing assessments, and rapid prioritization of patient needs
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other emergency interventions as ordered
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond quickly to clinical needs
• Support safe, efficient throughput in a busy Emergency Department environment
• Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality patient care
• Document accurately and efficiently in Epic
• Float to nearby units when needed based on skill set and unit demands
• Maintain a professional, team-oriented approach while delivering compassionate care
