Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• At least 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• PALS preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient-care coordination skills
• Comfort working with EPIC charting is helpful
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and occasional holidays as scheduled

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse medical-surgical patient population, including medical, surgical, and post-operative patients
• Monitor telemetry strips and collaborate with the care team to support safe patient outcomes
• Perform and oversee essential bedside care such as Foley care, CHG bathing, and oral care
• Partner closely with patient care technicians to ensure timely and complete patient care
• Support stable patients requiring BiPAP or high-flow oxygen and escalate concerns as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team
• Float to other acute care areas or nearby campus needs when appropriate and within scope
• Deliver patient-centered care with professionalism, adaptability, and a strong clinical mindset
