Job Details

• Setting: Acute care Med/Surg Tele Float Pool
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Location: Bridgeport, West Virginia
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Participates in the holiday rotation
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,160 - $2,270
• Charting System: EPIC
• Openings: 2
• Orientation: 1-2 shifts with a preceptor

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent acute care Med/Surg or telemetry nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS required
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Must pass a cardiac rhythm exam
• Comfortable working in a float pool environment and adapting to different units
• Experience with EPIC preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, weekends as scheduled, and holiday rotation

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg and telemetry patients
• Float to designated units as assigned and deliver care within scope of practice
• Monitor telemetry patients and recognize changes in cardiac rhythms
• Collaborate with the charge nurse, clinical coordinator, and care team for daily assignments
• Care for patients with diagnoses such as CHF, pneumonia, COPD, chronic renal disease, chest pain, ortho, and oncology-related needs
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC
• Support a patient ratio that is typically 1:5-6, depending on acuity
• Work effectively with CNAs, monitor techs, and respiratory therapy as needed
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused environment while delivering excellent patient care
