Location

• Morgantown, West Virginia

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Unit

• Stepdown/MedSurg
• 29-bed unit currently under construction; all beds will be step-down equipped in first quarter 2026
• Flex unit serving both floor and step-down patients based on unit and hospital needs
• Primarily medical diagnoses

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Weekend night shift
• Every Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, Monday
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• Epic experience
• Must be able to handle a 6-patient med-surg assignment or a 3-patient stepdown assignment

Preferred

• New or experienced nurses accepted

Clinical Expectations

• Orders may include titrating drips
• Common drips include heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, phenobarbitol, ketamine, morphine/dilaudid/fentanyl PCAs, and TPN
• May care for CPAP, BiPAP, HiFlow, and vents on the floor and in stepdown
• RNs are not expected to read their own strips
• First to float or be pulled to other floor/stepdown units

Staffing / Support

• Charge RNs and House Supervisors are available 24/7
• Charge RNs will likely take an assignment when the unit first opens, with the goal of eventually running with a free charge RN
• Nurse aides are present; goal is 3 Clinical Associates at all times, about 1:10 ratio
• Remote telemetry surveillance center and central monitoring are available on the unit

Other Details

• No call or standby requirement
• Expected to work about half of recognized holidays
• Scrub color: any combination of royal blue and white
