Job Details

• Location: Oakland, Maryland
• Healthcare Setting: Acute care Labor & Delivery / Mother Baby unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,290 - $2,410
• Charting System: EPIC
• Unit Focus: Labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care

Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience or related maternal care experience
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• STABLE certification
• Ability to provide safe, patient-centered care in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Comfortable working night shifts and collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for laboring patients, postpartum mothers, and newborns
• Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes in condition
• Support stable mother-baby care and assist with timely transfers when higher levels of care are needed
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in EPIC
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other clinical team members to promote excellent patient outcomes
• Support a busy Women's Health unit that averages approximately 20 deliveries per month
• Deliver compassionate education and support to patients and families throughout the birth experience
