Job Details

• Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
• Assignment Type: Travel contract / travel nursing job
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460 - $1,540
• Hours Per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
• Location: San Antonio, TX 78229
• Start Date: 9/22/2026
• End Date: 12/22/2026
• Unit Environment: Busy adult emergency department with acuity-based patient flow
• Weekend Requirement: Must be available to pick up 4 weekend shifts per month
• Electronic Medical Record: Meditech experience required

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum 1 year of recent emergency room nursing or acute care nursing experience
• Experience caring for acutely ill or injured patients in a fast-paced emergency department
• Strong working knowledge of Meditech EMR
• Current ACLS, PALS, BLS, TNCC, ENPC, NIHSS, and CPI certifications
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, adaptable attitude
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and support scheduled weekend coverage
• Trauma center experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a busy emergency department
• Perform rapid assessments, triage, and prioritize patient flow based on acuity
• Support airway, respiratory, vascular access, trauma, cardiac, neurological, and emergency procedures
• Administer medications, blood products, and critical infusions per protocol
• Assist with emergency interventions such as intubation support, cardioversion, pacing, and code response
• Monitor and document patient status accurately in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team to coordinate transfers and urgent interventions
• Maintain a calm, compassionate presence during high-pressure situations
