• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: 36 hours per week; 3x12 night shifts
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required to similar medical-surgical units and nearby inpatient holding areas as needed
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,660-$1,750
• Orientation: Comprehensive unit and organizational orientation provided

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience within the last 5 years
• Active Registered Nurse license
• BLS certification required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience caring for patients with orthopedic trauma, surgical, and neuro-related needs
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Ability to support heparin drips, PCA therapy, wound care, chest tubes, central line care, and feeding tube management
• Experience with dysrhythmia management and telemetry nursing preferred
• Open to floating within and near the facility as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• NC or Compact RN license pending is acceptable for submission
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
• Monitor and manage patients recovering from orthopedic trauma, neuro trauma, and general surgery procedures
• Administer medications and therapies, including heparin infusions and PCA support
• Perform and assist with wound care, chest tube management, central line care, and IV therapy
• Support patients with tracheostomy care, feeding tubes, oxygen therapy, and isolation precautions
• Document accurately and efficiently in Epic electronic health record (EHR)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support safe, efficient patient care
• Maintain a calm, adaptable approach in a busy, high-acuity hospital environment
