Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Active Connecticut RN license or ability to obtain prior to start
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Experience in a combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department
• Strong knowledge of triage, isolation precautions, and emergency nursing workflows
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and cardiac rhythm changes
• Experience with central line care and management
• Ability to start and maintain IV access
• Experience with IV vasopressors
• Comfortable caring for CPAP/BiPAP and ventilated patients

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients
• Assess, triage, and prioritize patients in a high-acuity Emergency Department
• Monitor patients and respond quickly to cardiac rhythm changes and urgent clinical needs
• Support patients requiring respiratory interventions, including CPAP/BiPAP and mechanical ventilation
• Manage IV therapy, central lines, and medication administration as ordered
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC throughout the shift
• Follow infection control protocols and isolation precautions at all times
• Float as needed based on departmental needs
