Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
- Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience
- At least 1 completed travel assignment required
- Experience in Special Care Nursery / Level II nursery care
- Delivery room experience required
- BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
- Experience with electronic charting systems required
- Ability to provide two supervisory references
- Comfort working in a fast-paced neonatal environment
- Charge nurse and preceptor experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct neonatal nursing care to infants in a Special Care Nursery setting
- Perform newborn assessments, ongoing monitoring, and clinical observation
- Support thermoregulation, infant identification, and safe discharge preparation
- Administer and manage IV antibiotics, IV starts, and maintenance of IV access
- Assist with phototherapy, metabolic screening, and other newborn care procedures
- Educate parents on car seat safety, cord care, circumcision care, and discharge teaching
- Monitor and support infants with hypoglycemia, low birth weight, large for gestational age, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
- Follow isolation precautions and maintain a safe, family-centered care environment
- Float to postpartum for baby care assignments when needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams to promote excellent outcomes for newborns and families
