• Unit Focus: Medical-surgical and hematology/oncology care

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a compact state; pending license may be accepted for submission
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
• Experience caring for pediatric patients strongly preferred
• BLS and PALS required
• Ability to administer chemotherapy required
• Strong clinical skills in IV starts, lab draws, peripheral line care, and phlebotomy preferred
• Experience with central line and implanted line care preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Must be open to floating within or near the facility as needed
• Must be comfortable working with pediatric oncology and med-surg patient populations

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality pediatric nursing care to children and adolescents with medical-surgical and hematology/oncology needs
• Safely administer chemotherapy and monitor patients throughout treatment
• Perform assessments, medication administration, and ongoing patient monitoring
• Support care for central lines, implanted lines, and peripheral IVs
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes
• Respond to changes in patient condition with strong critical thinking and clinical judgment
• Participate in self-scheduling, weekend coverage, and floating assignments as needed
