• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday required
• Setting: 28-bed medical-surgical unit with some remote telemetry patients

Job Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of practice or compact licensure
• Minimum of 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience or similar surgical patient care experience
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
• BLS required; ACLS accepted in lieu of BLS in accordance with unit expectations
• ACLS required
• NIH Stroke Certification preferred
• Must be prepared to complete a dysrhythmia exam at orientation
• Strong clinical judgment, time management, prioritization, and communication skills
• Experience supporting adult and geriatric patient populations preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Perform and document thorough patient assessments and maintain current nursing care plans
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with nursing standards and policies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support discharge planning and ongoing care needs
• Monitor and care for medical-surgical patients, including those with remote telemetry needs
• Provide patient and family education tailored to individual learning needs and care goals
• Support patients with common med/surg therapies such as TPN, NGT management, surgical drains, and heparin infusions as appropriate
• Advocate for patient safety, quality improvement, and compassionate care throughout the assignment
• Maintain professionalism, protect privacy, and contribute to a positive team environment
