Travel RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama with eligibility for verification
• At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced obstetrical environment
• Travel assignment eligibility, including a residence at least 50 miles from the facility

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of care
• Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care
• Anticipate patient needs and demonstrate sound clinical judgment during routine and high-risk obstetrical situations
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, recognize changes in condition, and promptly escalate concerns
• Support safe deliveries and provide immediate postpartum and newborn care within established protocols
• Prioritize and delegate patient care activities based on the education and experience of available staff
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel while promoting teamwork and clear communication
• Maintain clinical competency through continuing education and adherence to nursing standards, state regulations, and hospital policies
