Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift Assignment

Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse needed in Danville, Illinois, for a 13-week acute-care assignment starting October 12, 2026. Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or an active Illinois RN license application in progress
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience in an acute-care setting
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care for adult medical-surgical patients
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and recognizing changes in patient condition
• Ability to float to a medical-surgical unit and, as needed, provide care for general overflow patients in the ICU
• Successful completion of required onboarding, including a drug screening

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for acute-care medical-surgical patients
• Care for patients with congestive heart failure, diabetes, other acute heart failure conditions, end-of-life needs, and additional medical diagnoses
• Monitor telemetry using SpaceLabs equipment and promptly communicate significant rhythm or patient-status changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely; continuous drip titration is not required on this unit
• Collaborate with providers, respiratory therapists, patient care technicians, charge nurses, and other interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Provide patient and family education, discharge support, and compassionate end-of-life care when appropriate
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in EPIC
• Maintain safe staffing practices while caring for approximately four to five patients on nights, based on census and staffing
• Float to designated units when needed to support patient care and hospital operations
