Travel Nursing Job Details

• Position: Acute Care Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Location: Akron, Ohio
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Contract: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: October 23, 2026
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910–$2,010
• Holiday Coverage: Every other holiday
• Orientation: Facility orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition and medication-safety assessments

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or an active compact-state license held in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of permanent professional nursing experience in a PCU, progressive care, acute-care, or stepdown setting
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred or required based on assignment requirements
• Strong ECG rhythm-recognition skills and the ability to successfully complete required orientation assessments
• Recent professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director within the specialty
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced acute-care environment

Acute Care RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a progressive care or stepdown unit
• Monitor patients with complex medical needs and promptly identify changes in condition
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support timely interventions
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with established standards and protocols
• Complete focused and comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, documentation, and education
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and other members of the healthcare team
• Promote a safe, respectful, and patient-centered care environment throughout the night shift
