Travel RN Job Details

• Schedule: 36 hours per week; three 12-hour day shifts
• Shift: 6:45 a.m. – 7:15 p.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Unit: 44-bed general surgery and telemetry unit
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:6 on days and 1:7 on nights
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800–$1,890
• Charting System: Cerner

Telemetry Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in North Carolina
• At least 1 year of recent registered nursing experience; acute-care or medical-surgical experience strongly preferred
• Telemetry competency and the ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
• Ability to safely manage a patient assignment of approximately six to seven patients
• Experience caring for urology and bowel surgery patients preferred
• Current Basic Life Support certification
• Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and adaptability
• Willingness to float to other medical-surgical areas as needed

Travel Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to telemetry and post-surgical patients in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, assess patient status, identify clinical changes, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Care for patients recovering from urology, bowel, general, vascular, gynecologic, breast, podiatric, and related surgical procedures
• Manage patients with PCA, TPN, tube feeds, PEG tubes, Dobhoff and NG tubes, wound vacs, drains, catheters, and continuous bladder irrigation
• Administer heparin infusions, IV antibiotics, and other prescribed therapies according to policy
• Complete assessments, medication administration, care planning, documentation, and patient education using Cerner
• Collaborate effectively with the charge nurse, providers, CNAs, unit secretary, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
• Maintain a positive, engaging presence while delivering safe, compassionate, patient-centered care
