Psychiatric Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,870–$1,970
• Location: North Dartmouth, Massachusetts
• Healthcare Setting: Acute inpatient behavioral health hospital
• Patient Population: Adolescents through geriatric patients
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, through January 10, 2027
• Shift: 8-hour evening/night shifts
• Schedule: 32–40 hours per week, including every other weekend
• Interview: Not required

Psychiatric Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience
• Experience or strong interest in psychiatric nursing, behavioral health nursing, or substance use nursing
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate care to adolescent and adult patients
• Strong patient assessment, communication, clinical documentation, and de-escalation skills
• Ability to work evening/night shifts and every other weekend

Psychiatric RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive psychiatric nursing care to patients with mental health, behavioral health, and substance use disorders
• Complete patient assessments, monitor changes in condition, and communicate clinical findings to the interdisciplinary care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately in accordance with established protocols
• Support crisis prevention, therapeutic communication, and appropriate behavioral health de-escalation interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized treatment and nursing care plans
• Provide patient and family education related to treatment, safety, recovery, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation while promoting a safe, respectful therapeutic environment
