Home Health Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Virginia Beach, VA

Join a dedicated home health care team serving patients throughout Virginia Beach and Norfolk. As a Home Health Registered Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate nursing care in patients’ homes while supporting continuity of care, patient education, and improved outcomes. This Virginia travel nursing opportunity is based in the Virginia Beach area, a vibrant coastal community known for its welcoming neighborhoods, scenic beaches, and convenient access to the broader Hampton Roads region.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,120–$2,230
• Assignment Type: Travel nurse contract
• Start Date: October 1, 2026
• End Date: December 31, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Patient Care Setting: Home health nursing
• Coverage Areas: Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Virginia
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Shifts per Week: 5 scheduled shifts
• Shift Duration: 8 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Call Requirement: On-call one weekday each week and every fourth to fifth weekend
• Dress Code: Scrubs in any color

Home Health Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Virginia
• At least 1 year of recent home health nursing experience
• Associate degree in nursing or higher
• Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in patients’ homes and manage a daily skilled nursing visit schedule
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout assigned Virginia Beach and Norfolk coverage areas
• Homecare Homebase experience is preferred

Home Health RN Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive admissions and initial patient assessments in the home setting
• Perform routine skilled nursing visits in patients’ homes
• Manage discharges, recertifications, and ongoing plan-of-care updates
• Provide wound care, including care for complex wounds and wound vacs
• Collect and process laboratory specimens as ordered
• Provide catheter and Foley care
• Educate patients and caregivers regarding medications, treatment plans, disease processes, and self-care
• Support medication education and management to promote safe adherence
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the appropriate members of the care team
• Complete accurate, timely clinical documentation and coordinate care across providers and services
• Participate in scheduled weekday and weekend on-call coverage
