Travel Nursing Job Details

• Specialty: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN); perioperative nursing
• Location: Westwood, New Jersey, in Bergen County
• Healthcare Setting: On-site operating room with approximately 15–18 daily cases and six operating rooms
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,150–$2,260
• Shift: Day shift, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
• Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week; 40 hours per week
• Contract: 13 weeks, from October 13, 2026, through January 12, 2027
• Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic
• Orientation: 12 hours
• Travel Requirement: Candidates residing within 50 miles may not be eligible

Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent operating room registered nursing experience
• Strong orthopedic and spine operating room experience
• Demonstrated ability to circulate orthopedic, spine, robotic, and general surgery cases
• Current Registered Nurse license in the applicable state or a valid compact nursing license in hand at the time of submission
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications
• Epic charting experience
• Working knowledge of surgical safety standards, infection control, specimen handling, universal protocol, radiation safety, and fire safety
• Experience with surgical robotics, including Da Vinci and orthopedic robotic systems, is highly valued

Travel OR RN Responsibilities

• Circulate surgical procedures while maintaining a safe, sterile, and efficient operating room environment
• Support orthopedic, spine, general, thoracic, gynecologic, urologic, and robotic procedures
• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, supplies, and instrumentation according to case requirements
• Verify patient identity, consent, positioning, surgical site, specimens, and completion of the universal protocol
• Assist with procedures involving total joint replacement, spinal fusion, laminectomy, thoracotomy, laparoscopic surgery, and other complex cases
• Safely manage blood products, cell saver equipment, electrosurgical units, lasers, specialty tables, and robotic surgical systems
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Document patient care and operative activities accurately in Epic
• Follow infection prevention, malignant hyperthermia, latex allergy, radiation, and emergency response protocols
