Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Contract – Salem, Massachusetts

Join a fast-paced Emergency Department nursing team in Salem, Massachusetts, as a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) and make a meaningful impact caring for patients across the lifespan. This on-site travel nursing assignment offers the opportunity to work in a pod-based emergency care environment with dedicated pediatric and acute mental health areas, an average volume of approximately 230 visits per day, and a typical clinician-to-patient ratio of 1:4. Travel Emergency Department RN Job Details

• Location: Salem, Massachusetts
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract
• Start Date: November 1, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks, ending January 30, 2027
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Schedule: Night position with limited rotation; occasional day rotation may be requested for applicable schedules
• Patient Population: Patients of all ages, including emergency, pediatric, observation, and acute mental health patients
• Healthcare Setting: 65-bed Emergency Department with pod-based emergency care
• Average Department Volume: Approximately 230 patient visits per day
• Documentation System: EPIC ASAP
• Floating: ED Observation and Acute Mental Health areas as needed

Emergency Department Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department or emergency nursing experience
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Strong emergency nursing assessment, triage, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills
• NRP and TNCC certifications strongly preferred
• Ability to provide professional references and complete required clinical skills verification

Travel ER RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, timely, and compassionate nursing care to emergency patients of all ages and acuity levels
• Perform focused and comprehensive nursing assessments, triage, reassessments, and ongoing patient monitoring
• Administer medications and treatments while following established emergency care protocols
• Initiate and maintain IV access, perform phlebotomy, and complete point-of-care testing
• Perform and interpret EKGs and monitor cardiac rhythms
• Recognize changes in patient condition and promptly escalate concerns to the appropriate provider
• Provide splinting, patient education, discharge instructions, and care coordination
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in EPIC ASAP
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Float to the ED Observation wing and Acute Mental Health area when assigned
