• Healthcare Setting: Acute-care medical-surgical unit
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• Assignment End Date: January 18, 2027
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
• Schedule: Day shift, 3:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.; approximately 3 shifts per week
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 5:1
• Charting and Medication Systems: EPIC and PYXIS
• Orientation: General orientation, EPIC training, Jumpstart, and 1–2 departmental orientation shifts

Medical-Surgical Travel Nurse Requirements

• Current Indiana RN license or compact RN license
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Ability to provide direct patient care within the Registered Nurse scope of practice
• Willingness to float to other medical-surgical units when needed
• Professional communication, sound clinical judgment, and a commitment to compassionate patient care

Medical-Surgical RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients
• Assess patient conditions, identify changes in status, and promptly communicate concerns to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely using established protocols and PYXIS
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in EPIC
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing colleagues, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Support unit operations and provide competent care when floating to other medical-surgical departments
