Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800-$1,890
• Location: Asheville, North Carolina
• Healthcare Setting: 40-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 16, 2026
• End Date: December 16, 2026
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.; 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:4, with occasional stretch staffing to 1:5
• Documentation System: Cerner

PCU Travel RN Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit, stepdown, or comparable acute-care nursing experience
• Telemetry nursing experience in a progressive care, cardiac, or acute-care setting
• Experience administering and monitoring titratable or cardiac intravenous medications, such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin, heparin, and diuretics
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in North Carolina
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Flexible, positive, compassionate, and team-oriented approach to patient care

Progressive Care Unit RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and post-cardiac procedures
• Care for patients recovering from cardiac catheterization, stent placement, pacemaker or ICD procedures, and ablation
• Continuously monitor telemetry and recognize changes in cardiac rhythm or patient condition
• Safely administer, titrate, and evaluate the effectiveness of cardiac and other high-alert intravenous medications
• Perform or assist with bedside cardioversion according to clinical protocols
• Collaborate with providers, patient care technicians, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate individualized care
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in Cerner
• Float to designated medical-surgical, stepdown, emergency department holding, and other approved units as needed
