Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED) Night Shift Contract in McAllen, Texas

Travel RN Job Details

• Location: McAllen, Texas
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks, ending January 25, 2027
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends
• Emergency Department Setting: 12-bed freestanding emergency department
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Texas
• At least 1 year of recent Emergency Department or emergency room nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
• Strong patient assessment, emergency triage, critical-thinking, and prioritization skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced freestanding emergency department
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills
• NRP certification preferred

Emergency Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan
• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, ongoing monitoring, and reassessments
• Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate emergency interventions
• Support care for stroke and other time-sensitive emergencies
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Assist with moderate sedation and other emergency department procedures within scope of practice
• Collaborate with providers and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in Meditech
• Maintain a safe, organized, and compassionate emergency care environment
• Float to designated freestanding emergency department areas as needed
