Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – 13-Week Contract in Tucson, Arizona

Join a collaborative perioperative healthcare team as a Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse in Tucson, Arizona. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers the opportunity to care for surgical patients in a well-equipped hospital while enjoying Tucson’s sunny Sonoran Desert climate, scenic mountain views, and vibrant southwestern culture.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Tucson, Arizona
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570–$1,650
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 5, 2026
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts, approximately 6:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Call Requirement: Typically 4–5 weekday call shifts per month and 2–3 weekend call shifts per month; weekend call may be 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Call Response: Return to the hospital within 30 minutes of callback
• Scrubs: Provided
• Electronic Medical Record: Cerner

Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Arizona
• At least 1 year of professional Registered Nurse experience, including operating room nursing experience
• Recent circulating nurse experience required
• Experience with robotic surgery, general surgery, gynecology, and urology procedures
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to participate in scheduled call coverage and respond within the required timeframe

Operating Room RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Serve as the circulating nurse during general, robotic, gynecologic, and urologic cases
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative team
• Complete patient assessments, surgical documentation, time-outs, counts, and specimen handling according to established standards
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and adherence to perioperative policies
• Respond to scheduled call assignments and support urgent surgical needs when called in
• Accurately document care and clinical information in the Cerner electronic medical record
