Join a high-acuity Operating Room team in Weston, Florida, for a 13-week travel nursing assignment focused on complex transplant and surgical care. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced perioperative RN with strong liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant experience, including direct experience assisting with organ implantation—not procurement alone. Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020-$2,130
• Location: Weston, Florida
• Assignment Dates: November 2, 2026-February 1, 2027
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Healthcare Setting: Operating Room at a teaching acute-care hospital
• Shift: Day shift, 11:00 a.m.-11:30 p.m.
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift; 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Call: One call shift per week and two 12-hour weekend call shifts per month
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic
• Department Highlights: 18 operating rooms, approximately 55-60 daily cases, and adult and geriatric patient populations
• Orientation: 40 hours, including required EKG and pharmacology assessments
• Additional Expectations: Float within scope as needed and participate in training students and new staff

Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of direct liver or transplant Operating Room RN experience
• Strong, documented experience with liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant procedures
• Experience participating in organ implantation into the recipient patient; procurement or harvesting experience alone does not meet requirements
• Proficiency with Misonix and CUSA
• Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross at the time of submission
• NIHSS certification completed before the assignment start date
• Competence with transplant and general OR procedures, including laparoscopic procedures, Whipple procedures, organ donation, specimen handling, electrosurgical units, laser safety, infection control, and universal protocol
• Ability to complete required pre-start learning modules and facility assessments within specified timelines
• Willingness to meet required COVID-19 and influenza vaccination standards, with medical or religious exemptions considered
• Ability to work in a smoke-free, nicotine-free environment and complete required screening
• All requested time off must be disclosed during submission

Transplant Operating Room RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing complex transplant and surgical procedures
• Support liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant cases from preparation through organ implantation and postoperative transition
• Apply advanced Operating Room nursing knowledge to transplant, thoracic, abdominal, oncologic, and general surgical procedures
• Prepare and safely operate specialized equipment, including Misonix and CUSA
• Maintain strict infection prevention, specimen identification, surgical counts, and universal protocol standards
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, perfusion and transplant teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Document patient care, procedures, and surgical events accurately in Epic
• Provide call coverage and respond effectively to time-sensitive transplant needs
• Float within the RN's scope of practice to support departmental operations
• Contribute to a teaching environment by supporting students and newly hired staff
